Full Moon Reflection
INSIGHT on Illuminating What’s True
Dear Community,
If the new moon is the quiet hum of origin, the full moon is the return of what’s been made visible. In contemplative practice, we reflect not to define ourselves, but to illuminate what remains hidden in the dark.
These past two weeks, I’ve felt called to turn inward and retreat more deeply. Writing this book, anchoring INSIGHT sessions, and tending to my body, mind, and spirit all ask that I show up with honesty, clarity of vision, and an open heart.
Lately, that heart has felt heavy. My mind has been spiraling through more possibilities than I can hold.
That’s what this full moon feels like to me:
A mirror held up to the things I cannot see. Or don’t want to.
I reflect not to judge, but to witness. Not to fix, but to see fully.
The Light That Comes From Within
We know the moon holds no light of its own. It shines only by reflecting the light of the sun. But within our inner cosmos, reflection works differently.
What we quickly notice “out there” often mirrors something unresolved “in here” - a belief, a story, a longing waiting to be met, or an old pattern ready to be released.
Projection is rarely comfortable. Even when buried deep in the subconscious, invisible at the surface, it still shapes the way we see. And what remains unseen within us can create as much suffering, if not more, than what we face directly.
Yet every projection is also an invitation: to return to the self with honesty, humility, and a willingness to look inward.
Like the moon moving through its phases, holding neither to shadow nor to light, we too can learn to meet ourselves in every phase, without hiding, performing, or needing to explain.
That kind of presence doesn’t come easily. But with practice, it becomes instinctual, woven into the rhythm of our nervous system.
We don’t need to be new to be whole.
We don’t need to be bright to be true.
We just need to be honest.
INSIGHT Full Moon Contemplation
Find a still place, inside or out. Let your breath settle. Let the light of awareness find you.
Bring your attention to the center of your chest.
Ask:
What in me is ready to be seen?
What am I reflecting that no longer belongs to me?
What truth have I been orbiting that’s now ready to land?
Let the answers come like moonlight - indirect, gentle, and clear.
This is the work of illumination: not to fix what’s broken, but to love what’s been waiting in the dark.
If this reflection resonated with you in any way, I’d love to hear about it. I read every message and respond to as many as I can.
And if you know someone who could benefit from this message, please share it with them.
With love,
Kevin
