PRACTICE

An Inner Trilogy | Embodied Elements

Embodied Elements Pt. 2
is the second of a two-part series containing three practices each. Each practice builds sequentially and is meant to be practiced in the order presented.

Each practice offers movement in the form of Qi Gong and Tantric Hatha Yoga, Meditation, INSIGHT contemplations, and writing prompts designed to invoke your intuitive, innate intelligence to shine through.

This series centers on an ancient technology drawn from the Sankya Yoga Tradition used to explore the sensory and sometimes psychedelic experience of the Five Element Theory as an embodiment.

The techniques leverage awareness, the mind, and breath to activate specific patterns of sensations in the body. When given attention, the sensations create a portal into the embodied experience of the element, giving us clues and insights about how we think, feel, and act.

Part Two: Air | Ether | Light

As we arrive at sensating air and ether, our awareness is afforded a vehicle to perceive the more subtle realms of consciousness. What is it like to allow for sensations, thoughts, and feelings to be what they are without interfering with them?

In the yoga tradition, the mind is the sixth element. Yet this refers to the most refined aspect of the higher mind. In the final session, we draw on its fundamental characteristic as the point of focus: light. Here, we come to know the light of the mind at its Source.

This unique practice, led by Kevin Courtney, takes you on a journey of profound discovery:

Increase the power of your conscious awareness. Expand your awareness field beyond the body and perceive space. Refine perception to sense the light of consciousness and its Source.

Contemplate what within you is calling to be seen, sensed, felt, known, and understood.

Perhaps you arrive into the quiet of a contentless state; perhaps you touch what’s known as prajna - the highest form of wisdom gained through intuitive insight. Or maybe you land a little distracted at the end of practice, with the mind still flitting about. All outcomes are welcomed, and the value remains regardless of the result.

Once you’ve experienced the entire arc of the journey, go back time and again to any one practice to draw from its unique benefits.

These classes were filmed live and edited to maintain the integrity and enduring nature of the teachings.

Air

The air element is a gateway to the heart. It’s embodied through the sense of touch and is activated when we place the intelligence of our awareness on the skin. In practice, the air element feeds the fire element's flame, increasing our power to transform.

Ether

The element of ether fuels our capacity to witness what unfolds in the present moment without interfering with it. Ether is space. The body is comprised of 99.99% space. Our awareness is a limitless field that fuels our perception of this vastness. Gnosis happens here.
